Sangareddy MLA Chinta Prabhakar and district Collector V Venkareshwarlu on Thursday distributed the cheques of Kalyana Lakshimi and Shaadi Mubarak scheme to the families of brides belong to the poor at the MLA camp office in Sangareddy.

Sangareddy: Sangareddy MLA Chinta Prabhakar and district Collector V Venkareshwarlu on Thursday distributed the cheques of Kalyana Lakshimi and Shaadi Mubarak scheme to the families of brides belong to the poor at the MLA camp office in Sangareddy. Out of 90 in total, 87 beneficiaries were distributed the cheques of Rs 75,116 worth, two of Rs 51,000 and one of Rs 1,00,116 were distributed to the beneficiaries from the villages of Sangareddy mandal.

The Collector said the government had introduced the scheme by giving away Rs 1,00,116 cash presentation to the newly wedding brides belong to poor families irrespective of caste and creed in the state and all the eligible beneficiaries could avail the scheme.

MLA Chinta Prabhakar said the TRS government was abide by its poll promise of welfare of the poor by taking up several welfare schemes like Kalyana Laksimi, Shaadi Mubarak which are hailed by the entire country. The programme was attended by Municipal Chairperson B Vijayalaxmi, CDC Chairman Viajyendar Reddy, Grandhalaya Chairman NArasimha Reddy, RDO Srinivas Reddy, ZPTC Manohar Goud and others.

Later, the Collector held a review meeting on the preparation of final electoral rolls for the Gram Panchayat elections with Revenue officials and Councillors at the Municipal Council office here and ordered the Tahsildars and Booth Level Officer (BLO) to enroll the votes of eligible differently abled citizens by conducting door-to-door survey without any mistakes. Municipal Commissioner Prasada Rao and various political party leaders participated in the meeting.
