UppaI: A resident staying in front of Sri Sitarama Temple close to Gandhi statue, Nayabu Hanumanth Rao, on Monday expressed anguish over the GHMC officials’ bid to demolish a tin shed following online complaints by some persons that the structure was built without permission. He saw in the municipal staff act an attempt to terrorise him, as holes were left in the walls.

Rao had built the tin shed in 30-yard space where a cattle-shed stood earlier. He had sold the cattle in view of the ensuing monsoon. Following the complaints, the GHMC staff, along with police, reached the spot to take up demolition. They left without pulling down the shed after Rao showed the permission taken from the gram panchayat and the neighbours confirmed his ownership of the site. The staff also perused the documents before leaving.
