Moosapet and Kukatpally: Residents from different areas of Moosapet and Kukatpally thronged at the Prajavani programme which was held on every Monday at municipal office, Moosapet circle 24. A group of people from Anjaneya Nagar and shop keepers said, “The residents are suffering severely with the drainage overflow. It has been more than two weeks and nobody is looking up for the issue.

The drainage water is going inside our houses and complaint was given earlier to the officials but that was approved on June 7.” Residents from Moosapet road no 4 said, “The garbage is not collected regularly, and the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) workers come here at morning 5 am and collect garbage from few residents and remaining are throwing garbage on road side which later scattered by dogs everywhere.”

They said not only that when there is no option left for the resident they throw the garbage at backyard of the area, which later spreads the foul smell. The staff received the petitions in ‘Prajavani’ section and the petitioner was given acknowledgement with the complaint number, deadline to solve the problem and other details.

Speaking to The Hans India, the GHMC Deputy Commissioner T Dasharath said, “The department officials are filing the complaints accordingly. Some complaints which were already filed, the workers have started working on them and at some of the places like Anjeya Nagar the drainage issue has been looked by our assistants. We have spoken to contractors for the work; will also send the action report soon.”
