Who will head the Agriculture Market Committee here has stirred a lot of interest among political circles as the term of the existing chairman is going to expire by the June -end. Choosing the right candidate for the office has posed a big challenge to the party leadership.
Parigi: Who will head the Agriculture Market Committee here has stirred a lot of interest among political circles as the term of the existing chairman is going to expire by the June -end. Choosing the right candidate for the office has posed a big challenge to the party leadership.
The problem before the party leadership is whether to continue the existing chairman for another term or choose a new incumbent. Meanwhile, several leaders in the ruling party are aspiring for the post. These include those who have unsuccessfully tried to get them posted to the office.
Intense lobbying is going on with their political bosses to get them appointed for the post. Since the panchayat elections are also around the corner, the party leadership took the selection of market committee chairman as a serious issue.
TRS leader from Poduru mandal Azeem, TRS women’s wing president G Anoosha, TRS party Parigi mandal president and existing chairman Anjaneyulu, Manikyam of Mittakoduru, former ZPTC of Doma mandal Lakshmaiah are very much in the race for the market committee chairman post.
The panchayat elections will have its impact on selection of the market committee chairman. The party leadership is of the view that appointing the market committee chairman in the run up to the panchayat elections will bring groupism in the party to the fore.
The challenge before the party leadership is to ensure appointment of the chairman without causing pain to any section in the party and leaving no section dissatisfied with the party.
Earlier, the TRS senior leader Koppula Harishwar Reddy used to take care of such matters. He used to decide who is suitable for which post.
But currently, the ball is in the count of Vikarabad district farmers’ coordination committee chairman Koppula Mahesh Reddy.He is weighing various options before exercising the option.
