Citizens caught disposing of garbage in open areas

Attapur: Albeit making arrangements to dump garbage by Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation sleuths, several residents of Attapur were dumping their wastage at open places causing major incontinence to commuters and other citizens. The practice of throwing domestic wastage on the private places is a breach of the very spirit of Swachh Hyderabad, says advocators of Swachh Bharat.

The residents were blaming the authorities saying that they placed the garbage bins a little far away from their homes, and it is difficult for them to go all the way to dump their daily wastage. Hanumanth, a resident of Attapur, said, “There are no stringent laws to avoid this negligent behaviour of people.

There is a need to levy fines to prevent the people from following this ill-practice of throwing waste in the open private areas. It is causing inconvenience to the locals here and we suffer with diseases. It is a major concern especially during monsoon.” He added that instead of blaming politicians and government bodies, the people should deter themselves of doing such menace. “How many of us have actually tried solving these problems ourselves?” Hanumanth questioned.
