Hyderabad: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) removed 298 unauthorised structures and five unipoles till date informed a press release. The maximum number of illegal hoardings has been removed from the south zone followed by east zone.

In all, 176 hoardings were removed by agencies and 122 by the GHMC. A senior official said, “Detection of additional unauthorised hoardings is being done through daily field inspections and removal operations will be undertaken continuously until all the unauthorised advertisement structures are removed in GHMC limits.”

In addition to the above, three unauthorised obligatory span structures on flyovers have been removed. In July, one each at Malakpet flyover, CTO flyover and Chandrayanagutta flyover were removed.
