Khairatabad: Rajeev Nagar Welfare Association conducted plastic awareness programme for the women in the colony, Association president PSG Krishna Sarma said in a press release on Sunday. The organisers stressed the need to use jute bags instead of plastic.

They explained the ill-effects of plastic to the owners of shops, fruit vendors and vegetable shops. They distributed pamphlets to the participants. Association vice-presidents Chandrasekhar Reddy, Vinay Sagar, joint secretary Subba Raghavaiah, MV Ramana, Hemalatha, Rajyalakshmi, Sumalatha, Saranya, Dikshit were present.
