Hyderabad: Union Minister of State for Tourism K Chiranjeevi had to face the ire of Samaikyandhra supporters when he came to attend the meeting of Union Ministers and MPs at ministers’ quarters. Members of Visalandhra gheraoed Chiranjeevi and demanded that he resign from his post. The police had a tough time in bringing out the Union Minister from the agitators who had gheraoed him.
Chiranjeevi got down from his car and tried to convince the activists saying that he and other Union Ministers and MPs were sparing no effort to keep the State united. He told them that if the division becomes inevitable, he would not hesitate to quit. The Visalandhra members submitted a memorandum. Earlier, the Visalandhra Maha Sabha activists tried to lay siege to his house at Jubilee Hills but police prevented them.
