V Bhaskar is APERC chairman

Hyderabad: In an unexpected development, State government on Tuesday appointed senior IAS official and Special Chief Secretary ( Finance department) V Bhaskar as Chairman of the AP Electricity Regulatory Commission (APERC). Special Chief Secretary (Energy) M Sahoo issued orders filling the APERC Chairman post which fell vacant in April when the incumbent Raghotham Rao completed his term on April 24 this year.

Bhaskar will continue in the post for a term of five years with effect from the date he enters upon his office or till he attains the age of 65 whichever is earlier. The order says the IAS official will assume charge of the post of Commission Chairman, on his demitting the office of the Special Chief Secretary to Finance Department submitting resignation or taking voluntary retirement, duly notified by the government.
