Kadapa MP YS Jagan Mohan Reddy was released from prison on Tuesday afternoon. He has been lodged at the Chanchalguda jail in Hyderabad since his arrest on May 27, 2012. Scores of Jagan's supporters and fans had gathered near the jail in the morning itself hoping to catch a glimpse of their favourite leader. The police beefed up security around the jail premises to maintain law and order.
Jagan's lawyers submitted the release orders from the court to the jail authorities. The jail authorities examined the papers and released Jagan in the early hours of evening. As Jagan stepped out of the jail, he was greeted by thunderous applause. 'Jai Jagan' slogans rent the air amid sounds of bursting crackers. Jagan greeted the huge crowd with folded hands.

Jagan's family members who were waiting at the gate with bated breath, shed tears of joy as he emerged out of the prison. It is learnt that Jagan will offer floral tributes to the statue of Telugu Talli and his father Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy in Punjagutta before going home. Celebrations at YSRCP office haven't stopped ever since the news of Jagan's bail broke.
Supporters also thronged Jagan's Lotus Pond residence to accord him a warm welcome. People were seen dancing and distributing sweets to celebrate his return. His party members also offered special prayers to express gratitude for his homecoming.
On Monday, the CBI court in Nampally granted conditional bail to the YSRCP president on a personal bond of Rs 2 lakhs and two sureties of the like amount. It may be recalled that he was granted bail after six unsuccessful attempts to procure the same.
Special CBI court judge U Durgaprasada Rao directed Jagan not to leave Hyderabad and not to influence the witnesses in any way. Besides, he was also asked to make himself available for the court proceedings in the case. The court also said that the CBI can approach for cancellation of bail anytime if they found Jagan violating the said conditions. It is learnt that Jagan will file a memo in court seeking permission to tour Seemandhra region as party president.
