The heavy downpour was due to the deep depression in the Arabian Sea. The effect of this depression is resulting in rain in the regions of Maharashtra, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Kerala.

On Sunday, many denizens chose to remain indoors due to the long spell of showers. The temperature dropped considerably to 19 degrees after hours of drizzling. The city wore a hazy look due to the rains.

According to the Met Department, the situation would remain the same even today. Regions of Telangana and Seemandhra would receive moderate and heavy rainfall for the next two and four days respectively, due to the deep depression in the Arabian Sea. The Met department predicted that on Monday, the city would have mainly or generally cloudy sky with possibility of rain or thunderstorm. The maximum temperature today would be around 25o C and minimum would be around 20o C.
