A step towards social change

Auditions for a dance competition, titled Chak De - ABCD - Any Body Can Dance, were held on Sunday. The event was open for kids and adults from Gujarati & Rajasthani descent. More than 150 individuals and 12 dance groups took part, of the group Dynamic Yo Yo’s performance stood out. It depicted the harsh realities of life, by presenting the lives of people from different walks of life.

The lives of scavengers, common man, soldiers and of those women who are harassed by their in-laws, the various sufferings of children and the problem of terrorism - the dance was well choreographed. Minal Vakharia and Rajesh Shah, the chief organisers of the event, said, “Chak De-Gujarati & Rajasthani is a unique initiative by us, as we can bring the elders, children’s & youth to promote the dance, fashion, arts, sports, music, design and skills. More over it is to boost the confidence of our citizens thus promoting unity among people.”
