Amala emphasised on the use of organic foods for better health as it is produced by farmers who use renewable sources. She added that its use helps conserve soil and water and enhances environmental quality.

The event was also attended by AP agriculture minister Prathipati Pulla Rao who explained that the government was encouraging farmers to take up organic farming to avoid the use of pesticides.“These days there are many people who are prone to cancer. People should avoid eatables which can lead to diseases,” he said.

N Srinivas Rao, MD of the store, is confident that this attempt would bring people closer to nature. “These days there are many food items which use pesticides and chemicals. As a result, they have an adverse affect on health. This is our attempt to reduce the usage of chemicals by encouraging the consumption of organic food,” he said.
