Shopkeepers protesting at the market

Considered India’s biggest cell phone market, the area wore a deserted look on Thursday. Shopkeepers meanwhile held a demonstration against the closure. They claimed that no notice was served to them. Some of the shopkeepers lamented that they were being unduly targeted despite paying the taxes promptly. The protesters included roadside mobile phone vendors who too were evicted from the market as part of the drive.
