LVPEI opens new centre in Odisha

Former President Dr APJ Abdul Kalam inaugurated LV Prasad Eye Institute’s (LVPEI) OCL Eye Centre at Rajgangpur, Odisha, on Friday. MP Mangala Kisan was also present at the event. The centre at Rajgangpur will be a secondary level eye specialty hospital offering examination and treatment of all common eye diseases.

To build local competency, many members of the staff are recruited locally and trained at the LV Prasad Eye Institute. The centre is equipped with modern eye care equipment for examination, diagnosis and surgery. Certain facilities will be offered free of cost or will be subsidised for the underprivileged. The eye centre will also establish fixed facilities for eye screening in villages.
