Islamabad, Sep 29 (IANS) At least 29 people were killed and 70 injured when a car loaded with explosives went off Sunday near Khan Razaq police station in Pakistan's Peshawar city, police said.
Six children and two women were among those killed, the Associated Press of Pakistan (APP) reported.
Many vehicles and adjacent buildings were also damaged.
Peshawar commissioner Sahibzada Muhammad Anis said the evidence clearly indicated that explosive material was planted in the vehicle near the police station and was detonated with a remote control devise.
It was the third terrorist attack in Peshawar in 10 days' time, he said.
Rescue workers and local people rushed the injured to hospital.
The explosion occurred a week after a church was hit last Sunday by twin suicide bombings which killed more than 83 people.
