Sao Paulo's Prosecutor called for criminal proceedings against former Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, says the Prosecutor's press office to AFP. The same source indicated that 'A report against Lula was submitted but we don't know any detail so far. A press conference will be hold tomorrow'.

Sao Paulo prosecution requested the former president to be taken into court for 'property concealment and money laundering 'in connection with a triplex.

In an operation that began at 6 a.m., officers from the Federal Police swarmed Mr. da Silva’s home in São Paulo. He was taken to a federal police station, but he was not arrested or charged. He was released after about three hours of questioning, which he later derided as a “media show.”

Lula has denied any wrongdoing and rejected the idea that he owned the luxury condo in Guaruja built by engineering group OAS, one of the conglomerates snared in a vast corruption scandal tied to state-run oil company Petrobras.
