Karimnagar records notable increase in liquor sales
There has been a significant increase in liquor sales in Karimnagar district during the current financial year. The district is currently standing second in the State in liquor sales. Karimnagar: There has been a significant increase in liquor sales in Karimnagar district during the current financial year. The district is currently standing second in the State in liquor sales. Last year it stood fifth in united Andhra Pradesh. The district faced severe drought conditions this year and several traders were complaining that there has been a steep decline in their businesses.
However, it is an altogether different scenario for liquor traders. The sales have gone up significantly at all liquor shops and bar and restaurants. There is big demand for beer bottles and they are running out of stock in no time. Karimnagar district recorded a business of Rs 688.14 crore through liquor sales in 2012-13 while the business recorded in 2013-14 is Rs 712.90 crore. This year already the sales have gone up by Rs 80 crore when compared to last year.
