Cooking oil goes down the drain as lorry overturns
According to locals and police, the Hyderabad-bound biodiesel tanker coming from Kakinada of Andhra Pradesh was overturned at Bibigudem of Chivemla mandal while trying to avoid a collision with the auto-rickshaw coming from the opposite direction. Suryapet: As many as 2,000 litres of cooking oil went down the drain when the tanker carrying the oil overturned at Chivemmla mandal in Suryapet district on Monday.
According to locals and police, the Hyderabad-bound biodiesel tanker coming from Kakinada of Andhra Pradesh was overturned at Bibigudem of Chivemla mandal while trying to avoid a collision with the auto-rickshaw coming from the opposite direction. In this incident, vehicle overturned causing cracks to the tanker leaving the oil spilled out.
Taking the advantage, residents of the nearby village thronged the spot to collect the fuel amid mild tussles. Driver and cleaner of the lorry left the spot after the incident. It is learnt that the cost of the oil in the open market is about Rs 36 lakh.
