Government laying special emphasis on girl’s education: Dy CM Kadiyam

Warangal: The Telangana government has been laying special emphasis on girl’s education and has come up with various measures in that direction, said the Dy CM K Srihari.

Educating girl child would have a long lasting impact on the progress of the society and all the concerned officials and individuals should make efforts in that direction. The issue has also been raised during a meeting of Central Advisory Board of Education (CABE) in New Delhi last month, he said.

When compared to states like Rajasthan Telangana was going better in terms of girls education and more efforts were needed to impart education to girls, Srihari said while speaking at the valedictory ceremony of South India Regional Cultural Meet and Art Exhibition -2016 at Kakatiya University in Hanamkonda on Tuesday.

The event was organised by Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS) Hyderabad region in Telangana for the first time.He informed that the CM K Chandrashekar Rao has written to the centre seeking to establish Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs) in newly formed districts of Telangana.

There were JNVs functioning in nine districts of the state, and following the CM’s request 21 more JNVs might come up soon, he hoped.

He asked the NVS authorities to lay focus on achieving cent percent results in their institutions which were now recording a pass percentage of 99.44. The JNVs have more facilities when compared to ZPHS and others. He appreciated the organisers for conducting the Cultural Meet and Art Exhibition in Warangal.

Such events would help to promote national integration and harmony among the students who from different parts of the country gather at one place to show case their local culture and traditions.

MLA D Vinay Bhasker NVS deputy commissioner AY Reddy, KU vice-chancellor Prof. R Sayanna, registrar Prof. MV Ranga Rao, JNV Warangal principal P Satyanarayana and others were present.
