A new scheme for women’s safety on the anvil
Addressing the gathering, the Minister asserted that the government is giving top priority to safety and security of women. He disclosed that a police scheme, ‘Snehitha’ to provide immediate assistance to women, is to be finalised. Reddy said the local police have kept a vigil on the activities of persons, who tease women.
Suryapet: Power Minister G Jagadish Reddy on Thursday distributed six two-wheelers and a Tata Sumo to SHE teams here in the presence of Superintendent of Police Parimala, Additional SP Gangaram and DSP Sunita Mohan, besides college students.

The government has been implementing several welfare schemes for women like Shadi Mubarak and Kalyana Lakshmi, with commitment. The SP assured the town residents that the police were ready to check misbehaviour against women by anti-social elements.
The new vehicles provided to the SHE teams would enable them to reach the spot immediately. Municipal Chairperson Ganduri Pravallika, ASP Gangaram, DSP Sunitha Mohan, CI Mogilaiah and college girls students participated in the programme.
