Nalgonda: MLA Komatireddy Venkat Reddy has urged Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao to keep his promise of sanctioning a medical college to Nalgonda district which the latter had promised during their first meet after taking oath as the Chief Minister. Komatireddy said he would take up 72-hour hunger strike along with the families, who lost their loved ones due to non-availability of medical service, from October 2, at the land acquired for medical college near Mahatma Gandhi University.

Addressing the media in Nalgonda, Komatireddy said he had taken up several development activities in Nalgonda constituency when he was an MLA of ruling party. “The TRS government has done nothing for the development of Nalgonda constituency in last three years and leaders of the ruling party are busy making money,” the MLA said.

Meanwhile, in counter press meet, MP Gutha Sukender Reddy fired salvos at MLA Komatireddy and ruled out latter’s allegations on KCR and TRS government. “Everyone knows Komatireddy’s method of hunger strike. He ate bananas in the washroom during the indefinite hunger strike for separate statehood,” Gutha quipped, adding that Komatireddy was playing the hunger strike card for his political mileage.

Further, countering the allegations of Komatireddy, the MP listed out the developmental works carried out in Nalgonda constituency in the last three with figures.
