On Wednesday, she conducted a meeting with doctors and Integrated Child Development Services Scheme (ICDS) officials. Speaking on the occasion, she said during her tour to various villages in the district, majority people expressed their concern over the functioning of government PHCs and hospitals and irregular duty timings of doctors.

After surprise visits, stringent action would be taken against negligent doctors, she added. She further ordered the District Medical and Health Officer Subash Chandra Bose to issue memos to doctors of PHCs of Turkapally, Motakonduru, Mothkur and Naryanapur who failed to promote institution deliveries at their health centres.

She advised the doctors to work with Anganwadi staff in providing nutritious food to pregnant women. Stating that the present institutional deliveries in the government hospitals was 58.2 per cent, Ramachandran advised the doctors to create awareness among the people about KCR Kits for taking up institutional deliveries at government hospitals and raise the percentage to maximum extent.
