While taking part in the foundation stone laying ceremony for the construction of a new library building on the premises old dilapidated district library building, Mahbubnagar MLA Srinivas Goud said, “Unlike earlier, we want the district library to be more productive. Particularly, poor students from the Below Poverty Line families will be provided with competitive books and study material.

As part of this, the government has allocated Rs 52 lakh for the construction of the new library building.” At present, the old library building is in a dilapidated condition and hardly has any books that are useful for the students.

Keeping this in view, the government had sanctioned required funds for the construction of new library building. According to B Rajeshwar Goud, the newly-appointed District Library Association Chairman, the new library building will have a big hall, three additional rooms and two toilets on the ground floor. Subsequently, the library would be expanded further.

Later, MLA Srinivas Goud distributed cheques worth Rs 14 lakh among 34 beneficiaries of Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.
Municipal Chairman Radha Amar, Executive Engineer Ramprasad, Deputy Engineer Venkata Chary, Assistant Engineer Venkat Reddy along with Manoj Kumar, Library Secretary participated in the programme.
