Khammam: The representatives of Physical Education Teachers Association (PETA) and Private Rangamlo Reservations Sadana Sangham (PRSS) here on Tuesday demanded the government to fill the vacant PET posts through District Selection Commission.

The representatives on Tuesday took out a rally from University College to the office of District Education Officer via Collectorate and ZP Centre, and staged a dharna in front of the DEO office.

Speaking on the occasion, PETA district convener Md Pasha demanded the government to fill all vacant posts in government schools through DSC without further delay.

“Jobless youth, who are holding higher degrees, have been waiting for several years to get placed in government posts. However, the State government is delaying in filling the posts,” he alleged.

Stating that the TRS government was deceiving the unemployed youth by not recruiting them, he said more than 100 PET posts were lying vacant in government schools across the State. He further urged the students and unemployed youth to fight united against the government for failing to fill the vacant posts.

Later, the representatives submitted a memorandum to the District Collector DS Lokesh Kumar and to the District Education Officer Vijay Lakshmi Bhai. PRSS district secretary M Upendar, PETA representatives Madarapu Sampath, S K Nazeer, T Bhaskar, Lenin, Rambabu, Harika, Kavitha, Swathi, Supriya, D Prabhakar, M Ravi, Brahmachary and Natabushanam were present along with others.
