Khammam: The CPM state secretary, Tammineni Veerabhadram, here on Tuesday stated that an alternate political platform would be established with organisations seeking social justice and all-round development of the Telangana against the dominating upper caste political parties.
Speaking at the party’s district body meeting at Sundarayya Bhavan in Khammam on Tuesday, Tammineni stated that people in the state were disappointed with the TRS rule as the party failed to keep its election promises. “The TRS leaders are behaving like autocrats and suppressing the voice of opposition and those who raise their voices against the government,” he alleged.
Slamming the Congress for utterly failing in elevating people issues, the CPM leader stated that the Congress had openly declared that Telangana had remained a backward region even under its rule. “Congress party in any way cannot become an alternative to TRS. Both TRS and Congress are trying to adopt policies that favour corporate companies. They are not bothered about common people and their sufferings,” he added.
Holding the government responsible for the suicides of farmers, Tammineni alleged that the government was in no mood to come to the rescue of farmers, unemployed youth and the students. Many students are suffering due to delay in release of fee dues and scholarships, he said, demanding the government to release the scholarships immediately.
Party state leaders Pothineni Sudharshan Rao, Buggaveeti Sarala and Nunna Nageshwar Rao, district president Ponnam Venkateshwar Rao, Kalyanam Venkateshwar Rao and Battula Lenin were present along with others.
