Mahbubngaar: The police in erstwhile Mahbubnagar district took many Opposition leaders and Joint Action Committee (JAC) members into preventive custody. Many leaders and activists from JAC in Kollapur, Nagarkurnool, Wanaparthy, Gadwall and Mahbubnagar were arrested, and the police restricted their movement by conducting checks at toll gates and road junctions by stopping vehicles carrying the activist to Hyderabad.

The Kollapur police arrested the Youth Congress Leaders in Chinnambavi mandal for expressing solidarity with the JAC’s Koluvulakai Kotlata meeting being held in Hyderabad.

“The TRS government is showing its true colours by curbing democracy in the State. They have house arrested and took many Joint Action Committee members in to preventive custody. This is a draconian government curbing the voices of the people,” said Rajender Reddy, JAC Chairman Mahbubnagar district.
