Mahbubnagar: District Collector Ronald Rose expressed concern over the slow pace of loan recovery from Self Help Groups in the district. The Collector pulled up the officials of District Rural Development Organisation (DRDO) for showing latency in loan recovery from the SHGs.

While addressing a review meeting on the performance of SHGs in the district, the Collector said, “We have observed there is an inordinate delay in the loan recovery from the SHGs, who have taken loans under various schemes. The DRDA officials have failed in supervising the SHGs properly. If this situation continuous, it will be difficult for us to reallocate loans to fresh SHGs.”

To streamline the loan recovery, the Collector directed the DRDA officials to prepare a detailed planning of loan recovery in a targeted time and asked them to submit regular loan recovery report to the government.

“As the government is spending huge funds for providing loans to each and every member of SHG, it is important to recover the loans in the set target time and redistribute the same to the other group members,” observed the Collector. Anand Kumar, PD DRDO, Nagamallika District Project Manager, Sharada, District Project Officer EGM and other officials took part in the review meeting.
