Release of MRPS, VHPS leaders sought
State president of the Women Wing of ‘Vikalangula Hakkula Porata Samiti’ (VHPS) Samneni Bhavani Chowdary Wednesday demanded the government to release the founder president of Madiga Reservation Porata Samiti (MRPS) Manda Krishna Madiga and representatives of VHPS who had been arrested illegally by the police officials on December 17.
Khammam: State president of the Women Wing of ‘Vikalangula Hakkula Porata Samiti’ (VHPS) Samneni Bhavani Chowdary Wednesday demanded the government to release the founder president of Madiga Reservation Porata Samiti (MRPS) Manda Krishna Madiga and representatives of VHPS who had been arrested illegally by the police officials on December 17.
The representatives of the VHPS and MRPS held a road blockade at ZP Centre in Khammam on Wednesday. Speaking on the occasion, Bhavani informed that the MRPS has been fighting for the SC categorisation for the last 20 years.
But both the State and Central governments instead of implementing it were trying to suppress the movements launched by the MRPS. She further threatened to intensify protests if government failed to release the arrested leaders.
