The arrest of 13 constables by officials of Crime Investigation Department (CID) officials in last two days with regard to criminal conspiracy, impersonation, cheating and malpractice in state-level Police Constable Recruitment written exam-2009, is creating ripples in the erstwhile Nalgonda district.

Nalgonda: The arrest of 13 constables by officials of Crime Investigation Department (CID) officials in last two days with regard to criminal conspiracy, impersonation, cheating and malpractice in state-level Police Constable Recruitment written exam-2009, is creating ripples in the erstwhile Nalgonda district.

According to reliable sources, on complaint of Nalgonda CCS circle inspector Laxminarayana at Thipparthy police station on October 19, 2010, then Nakrekal CI Ramulu Naik arrested 13 accused persons including nine candidates, two impersonators and three mediators. Subsequently, the case was transferred to CID. CID took up further investigation where the in-charge officer KJ Soma Shekar arrested another 25 accused persons. Further DSP Mahesh and DSP M Ramachandrudu arrested two more accused.

Based on substantial evidence against 13 constables of Nalgonda district, the CID sleuths arrested 10 of them on Wednesday and remaining three on Thursday. The arrested constables were identified as Burri Venkateshwarlu of Kodad rural police station, Chevula Nagaraj of Vadapally PS, Dongari Sandeep of Mirylaguda PS, Mahadeva Nageshwar Rao of Kodad town PS, Vadde Upender of Konda Mallepally PS, MD Afsar of Surypet town, Marthanapally Venkata Satyanarayana of Bhongir PS, Gundu Veera Prasad of 8th battalion of Kondapur-Hyderabad, Budigem Nageshwar Rao of Mattampally, Daniyakula Srikanth of Rajapet PS, Atturi Satyanaryana Reddy, who is undergoing training at PTC Karimnagar, Kaiguri Ramesh of ARPC-3993-Special party –Nalgonda, Vemabadi Ramesh of Mothkur PS.

It came to be known that all the accused were produced before the Sixth Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate court at Nampally in Hyderabad for judicial remand. Later, they were sent to Chanchalguda Central prison for judicial custody and enabling CID to continue further investigation in this case.
