Nalgonda: Members of All India Democratic Women’s Association (AIDWA) staged a protest demonstration on Narketpally –Addanki road near Cherlapally bypass in Nalgonda on Monday in support of their demand for 33 per cent reservation for women in Lok Sabha and State Legislatures

Addressing the gathering, AIDWA district unit leader Paladugu Prabhavathi said the Bill has been pending for the last two decades due to double standards of political parties. she demanded that all political parties support the Bill unconditionally to provide 33 percent reservations to women.

Organisation’s another leader Kandala Pramila said the issues of women were not being raised in Parliament and State Legislatures because of absence of adequate women representatives in the Houses.

As a part of protest, they raised slogans against the political parties and the Central government. Police took the agitating women into their custody and shifted them to Nalgonda rural police station.
