US Consul General takes Metro Rail ride

Katherine B.Hadda, Consul General of the United States of America in Hyderabad travelled today in the Metro train along with HMRL Managing Director NVS Reddy from Rasoolpura to Mettuguda.

The HMRL MD has shown her the facilities at the Metro stations, the street level works being done by HMRL at the Metro stations and the state of the art user friendly systems in the Metro trains. He has also explained her about the unique financial model and the engineering and financial innovations of the Hyderabad Metro Rail project, which is the world’s largest Metro project in public private partnership (ppp) mode.

Appreciating the bold initiative of Hyderabad in building a Metro Rail project of this magnitude in Public Private Partnership (PPP) mode and the world class facilities at Metro stations, she said, “I was so happy to experience the beautiful new Hyderabad Metro rail, it is a great addition to the growing and vibrant city that is Hyderabad. My congratulations to Mr. Reddy and his team on this world-class system”.

Akash Suri, Assistant Public Affairs Officer, US Consulate and A. Balakrishna, DCP, Hyderabad Metro Rail also accompanied them during their train travel.
