A major fire accident was averted after a parked car caught fire in Tirumala early this morning. 40% of the car was burnt in the accident which took place near Ram Bageecha Guest House in Tirumala.
Locals immediately alerted the fire tenders who reached the spot and doused the flames bringing the situation under control. The car belonged to Vigilance DSP Ankaiah, who visited the temple to participate in the morning prayer.
Sources reveal that the flames erupted due to a technical fault in the car's battery and a short circuit may have led to the fire. No one was injured in the incident.
