TRS MP B Vinod Kumar on Friday participated in the debate in Lok Sabha over the no-confidence motion against the NDA government and said that the present government decided to merge the seven mandals of Telangana with AP and circulated an ordinance undermining the spirit of the constitution of the country.

He stated that TDP Chief N Chandrababu Naidu had forced the centre in this by announcing that he won’t take oath as the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister without the merger of the seven mandals from the Bhadrachalam revenue division.

Demanding amendment to the State re-organisation Act to facilitate restoration of seven revenue mandals from Khammam district snatched away to be returned back to Telangana, the TRS MP said the state had lost the Sileru Hydel Power station also due to the merger.

Vinod Kumar recalled that Khammam of Telangana was carved out of Warangal district in 1962 and was not part of AP insisting that the promises made to the Telangana State as part of the bifurcation be fulfilled including proper allocation of power.
