Hyderabad: IT Minister KT Rama Rao on Tuesday said that there was no leader in the State to match Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao’s stature and no leader is tall enough to reach even the height of TRS president’s knees.

In an informal interaction with media persons here, Rama Rao said that there was no chance of Mahakutami gaining strength in the State. He said that the TRS will win not less than 100 seats in the coming elections and there would be no effect of Mahakutami as people were happy with chief minister’s rule.

There will be a resounding revolution on December 11, he added. Rama Rao alleged that Telugu Desam chief N Chandrababu Naidu has become adopted son of Congress party. “Uttam Kumars have turned into Uttara Kumars hence the Congress has adopted Chandrababu Naidu for saving themselves,” said Rao. There would be no issues which would have impact on the elections in the coming 30 days and there would be no impact of even the Congress party leaders like Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi campaigns in the state, he said.

The Mahakutami is an unethical alliance. There will not be transfer of votes as Kutami leaders contend. “We also had alliance with TDP in 2009... we thought this will benefit us. One plus one will be two but at times it will be zero also,” said Rao. The TRS leader said that Telugu Desam was the only party which had alliance with all the political parties except Jagan’s YSR Congress.

He said that Naidu should answer why he joined hands with Congress party which he targeted earlier. He said that it was not for saving the country (Desam) but for saving his own Telugu Desam, he added. He said that the Mahakutami was not new for TRS as TJS president M Kodandaram was with Congress even during 2014 elections and some of the JAC leaders got Congress tickets.

There is a crisis of issues with the TJS leaders, he added. The TRS leader said that there was no caste-consciousness in Telangana. “This may be the case in Andhra Pradesh but we have always been immune to caste-based politics. He said that during the 2014 elections, people in GHMC had doubts on TRS hence they voted to TDP and BJP but their doubts have been cleared and the biggest example was results of the GHMC elections,” claimed Rao.

Regarding the controversy over remarks of Congress candidate V Pratap Reddy that Minister Harish Rao telephoned him and urged him to defeat Chief Minister, KTR said that the family was important than politics for himself and Minister T Harish Rao. He said that these were uncultured words by the opposition parties. “For us, both I and Harish or Kavitha -- family is first and politics is not above the family. They are not going to disturb us with such comments. He (Harish) has clearly said he will live and die in TRS,” said Rao.

Replying to a question, Rao said that the chief minister would not change his constituency. When he is going to win with a margin of 1 lakh votes, why would he change, he asked. Rao said that the TRS will make sure BJP would loses deposits in 100 seats.

Replying to a question, he said, “The BJP reminds me of ‘Mungeri Lal ke Haseen Sapne’, it does not have candidates to fight in all the 119 seats and they are talking of winning 70 seats and coming to power. We will make sure the BJP loses deposits in 100 seats.” He said that the Congress and BJP have failed the country. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has done more damage to Telangana.
