Congress leaders on Monday filed a petition in High Court against the decision taken by Legislative chairman Swamy Goud for accepting the MLCs merger into TRSLP. Terming the move as against the constitution, the Congress leaders filed a plea in the High Court.
Earlier in the day, the Congress senior leader Shabbir Ali met the Swamy Goud demanding disqualification of the party MLCs Santosh Kumar and Akula Lalitha for submitting a memorandum to merge CLP into TRSLP.
After meeting Goud, Ali spoke to media and said that there is nothing in schedule 10, fourth paragraph which said that the party can merge. He also claimed that only the election commission has right to merge the party.
