Chain snatchers posed a challenge to the Rachakonda police. The chain snatchers did 9 snatchings in 12 hours time and created fear among the women in its limits.
On Thursday, chain snatching incidents occured in three places in Vanasthalipuram police limits under LB Nagar zone. Earlier on Wednesday evening hours the chain snatchers have a free run in the zone and did chain snatchings in 6 places within one hour in three police station limits namely LB Nagar, Vanasthalipuram and Meerpet police stations and looted about 15 tulas gold chains from the victiims and absconded from the spots.
With the severity of the incidents the Rachakonda police Commissioner Mahesh M Bhagwat deployed the Special Operation Team(SOT) sleuths into ground to nab the chain snatchers. They were verifying the CCTV footage to identify the accused. They were suspecting interstate gang behind these snatchings.
