Telangana: Rs 235 crore traffic fine collected in 2018

The traffic police in the state has collected a whooping amount of Rs 23559 crore in fine for various traffic violations While the fine tops with the bikers who paid Rs 563 crore for not wearing helmet, Rs 3845 crore was collected from over speeding vehiclists and Rs 72 crore for drunk driving
The traffic police in the state has collected a whooping amount of Rs 235.59 crore in fine for various traffic violations. While the fine tops with the bikers who paid Rs 56.3 crore for not wearing helmet, Rs 38.45 crore was collected from over speeding vehiclists and Rs 7.2 crore for drunk driving.
For the wrong parking, the department raked in Rs 14.4 crore and around Rs 2.78 crore from the drivers using mobile phones while driving. The fines collected for not wearing a seatbelt Rs 1.5 crore. On the other hand, the year saw a 10 per cent decrease in the deaths caused due to road accidents in the state this year.
