A 42-year-old school principal was arrested for allegedly raping a Class 2 girl on Tuesday. The incident came to light with the arrest of the principal on Thursday.
According to the police, the accused Gampa Venkateshwara Rao who is working as a headmaster in a school in Agiripalli sexually assaulted the girl on January 22 in the school premises. The girl who went home bleeding narrated her ordeal to her parents. The parents took the girl to the hospital where she got four stitches and the doctor confirmed that she has been raped. However, the parents did not file any complaint fearing the repercussions for the child and family.
Learning the incident, social activists convinced the family who filed a complaint on Thursday. The police registered a case and arrested the accused.
