Amaravati: Expressing concern over poor response from the State students in opting Nursing courses, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu directed the officials to frame suitable academic policies to attract the local students into this course.

Speaking at the first video based collectors conference on Monday from Secretariat at Velagapudi, Chandrababu Naidu said that the students in the Andhra Pradesh have been entering into the medicine in a sufficient number, whereas the same spirit is missing when comes to the Nursing courses.

At this juncture, Special Secretary to the Health and Medical education Poonam Malakondaiah revealed that the AP has one of highest number of Nursing Colleges in the country. At the same time, the students have not joined in the nursing courses from the state, as expected while promoting the colleges. She further explained that the students from Kerala have been joining in the Nursing colleges of Andhra Pradesh.
