Amaravati: The Governor ESL Narasimhan rejected an ordinance on dotted lands brought by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu government, on Wednesday. The Governor objected two points including delegation of authority to joint collectors from District collectors and reducing time period from six months to two months.

Initially, the government amended the Act in previous Assembly session enabling the district collectors to solve the problem. Later, as the government found it very difficult task to solve the 85,000 grievances from public on dotted lands, Chandrababu Naidu directed to bring the ordinance with latest amendments.

The cabinet in its recent meeting has proposed the two amendments to the act and sent for Governor's consent.

Even though the government has the option to introduce it in this Assembly session and send for Governor's approval, Chandrababu Naidu directed to send the ordinance in view of Election code. If election code will be effective before getting approval from Governor, then the Bill passed in Assembly will not become an Act, hence Chandrababu Naidu took this decision.

Meanwhile, the criticism erupted against Governor from TDP quarters on it.
