Highlight: Incorrect Reports emerged on Friday night that an Army jawan was kidnapped by militants at his residence in Qazipora, Chadoora in Budgam.
The defence ministry clarified that no soldier has been abducted from Jammu and Kashmir's Budgam district a day after the reports surfaced.
"Media reports of the abduction of a serving Army soldier on leave from Qazipora, Chadoora, Budgam (J&K) are incorrect. Individual is safe. Speculations may please be avoided," said the defence ministry.
The Army jawan was reported missing from on Friday evening and the police suspected he may have been abducted by a terrorist outfit.
