Guntur home-maker kills daughter in US, Guntur Sujata, Rao Guduru, Chetana. The incident, which created a sensation, came to light late.

Guntur: A home-maker from Guntur, Sujata, allegedly shot dead her daughter, Chetana (17), and made an attempt to commit suicide by turning the gun to her heart in their house at Orlando, Florida (USA). Police suspect family problems to be the motive. The family has been living in Florida for the last six years.
Sujata’s husband, Rao Guduru,was not home; he was on the way back from Atlanta. Sujata has been admitted to the Orlando regional hospital in serious condition. Her mother-in-law was home, but was sleeping.
The incident, which created a sensation, came to light late. She had sent an e-mail on the incident to her brother Chittuluri Prasad, who reached Florida and found the two in a pool of blood. Finding Chetana dead, he informed police. The e-mail stated that she had decided to end her life; since there would be none to take care of the daughter, she had decided to kill her. According to police, the killing/suicide was not a sudden happening. It was planned, as Sujata allegedly purchased a gun on January 2. They said she would be questioned after recovery.
On learning about the killing, Chetana’s friends in Nominal High School were shocked. They described her as an intelligent and knowledgeable. She was interested in only studies and could answer promptly any question, said her teachers.
