Expressing concern over the ongoing conflict in the Government offices between the pro and anti T employees in Hyderabad, Digvijay Singh to the Chief Minsiter N Kiran Kumar Reddy, Deputy Chief Minister D Rajanarasimha and Panchayat Raj Minister K Jana Reddy and asked them to see that showdown between the two groups does not take place.
He also urged the TRS leaders to refrain from taking a hard line and asked them not to say anything that would provoke the Seemandhra people. At the same time, he appealed to the employees from Seemandhra region to call off their agitation and hold talks with the Antony committee. To CM, Dy CM Talking to media, after the meeting with Seemandhra MP’s, Digvijay Singh asked the employees to appear before the committee and explain their point of view, their doubts and apprehensions so that they can be taken note of while drafting the bill on Telangana He said they were ready to take note of their concern and address their problems.Digvijay Singh also found fault with the indefinite fast launched by YSRCP president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy. He said YSRCP had given its nod for bifurcation at the all party meeting.
The Seemandhra MPs who met the Antony committee on Monday explained the situation in the state and the agitation that has been on in the Seemandhra region for past 26 days and submitted clippings from various newspapers. Digvijay Singh immediately called the Deputy Chief Minister and Jana Reddy and inquired about the situation. The MPs wanted to make a power point presentation on the situation in the state and why it should not be bifurcated.
But since the Union ministers from the region could not appear before the committee as they were busy in the Parliament where the Food Security Bill was being passed. Hence the MPs and union ministers from the region will meet the committee again on September 3. Asked about the proposed Government committee on Telangana, Digvijay Singh said that he too saw it on news channels. “You should ask the Home Minister about it,” he said. Those who met the Antony committee were Vundavalli Arun Kumar, K V P Ramachandra Rao, Ananta Venkatarama Reddy, K Bapiraju and G Harsha Kumar.
