Tehelka editor Tarun tejpal was accused of sexual assault by a senior journalist. The news came to light after the scribe gave an interview to a news channel.
The woman journalist alleged that she was assaulted by Tejpal at an event organized by the magazine in Goa earlier this month.
Tehelka’s editor-in-chief Tarun Tejpal has stepped down from the magazine for a period of six months due to charges of sexual assault.
Tehelka magazine was started by Tarun Tejpal way back in 2000. Tejpal had earlier worked in many notable media houses and contributed sensational news to the public. The issue has garnered support from several female reporters.
Former IPS officer Kiran Bedi pointed out that Tehelka must explain if it has an internal committee to deal with complaints of sexual harassment.
Meanwhile, the national women for commission stated that they had not received any complaint against Tarun Tejpal till now. we can only react on this once we receive any complaint, they said.
