It is evident that the government of India has opened the gates for privatization since 1996. It started permitting privatization in all sectors since then. The government which had permitted privatization of seeds, pesticides, machinery and marketing has now opened the doors widely for Agricultural Insurance also. The agrarian societies are furious over this issue. They are of the opinion that such decisions will ruin the governments.

The private companies are known for their high premium and low compensations. The leaders of agrarian societies feel that the private companies look for profits for themselves and will not give compensations, adequately in the pretext of many conditions.
There is a need to give prior answers before welcoming the privatization in such an important sector. A former in general has been facing lot many problems as he never gets guarantee from any agency that he would surely get revenue out of his work.
The welfare schemes announced by the ruling governments never turned to be useful in actuality to them. At this juncture, the agrarian experts feel that there should be adequate measures required to be adopted when welcoming private agencies into agriculture sector.
