The Lok Sabha Wednesday passed the Lokpal and Lokayukta Bill, 2011, which provides for formation of an anti-graft ombudsman.
The bill was passed with the amendments adopted by the Rajya Sabha Tuesday.
Gandhian Anna Hazare, the person who pioneered a movement to get the Lokpal Bill implemented in India to fight against corruption is happy.
A thrilled Hazare thanks politicians and the public for their support and also passing of the landmark bill. Anna Hazare to break his fast as he heard the good news. It may be recalled that the Gandhian and an anti-corruption campaigner had been fasting over the last five days pressing for the passage of Bill in the Lok Sabha
