Chief Secretary Tells Panels that Finish Division Work by April 30 Hyderabad: Chief Secretary PK Mohanty has asked the officials of the 19 committees on the State bifurcation to complete the division process by April 30. Reviewing the progress of work in the Secretariat on Thursday, Mohanty said that guidelines on division of employees would come from the Centre soon. He stated that the work done so far was at a very satisfactory level and he was confident of completing the remaining within the stipulated time frame.

The officials heading the committees such as irrigation, revenue and health departments gave the details of the work completed so far, he said. Photo copying of the files commenced and very little progress witnessed in these departments because of the massive files, an official told the Chief Secretary. On pruning of the departments, Mohanty clarified that there was no employee would be removed but the departments would be lessened in the new States.

The Governor would take a decision on continuing of outsourcing and contract workers in the two States. Mohanty said that the committees should make the reports ready by April 30 as the Centre would start exercise on those reports after that date. Rajiv Sarma, Special Officer from the Government of India, also participated in the meeting and would work as liaison officer between the State and the Centre on the State division issue.

CS to leave for Delhi today

Chief Secretary P K Mohanty is leaving for Delhi on Friday to attend the high-level meeting to be convened by Cabinet Secretary, the Government of India. The meeting will be held to discuss the progress on division process as part of implementing Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act- 2014.
