Arvind Kejriwal Plea To Spare Mother Teresa. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday said Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat\'s reported remark that the sole objective of Mother Teresa\'s service to the poor was to convert people to Christianity was uncalled for, and added that a noble soul like her must be spared of such accusation.

New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday said Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat's reported remark that the sole objective of Mother Teresa's service to the poor was to convert people to Christianity was uncalled for, and added that a noble soul like her must be spared of such accusation.

"I worked wid Mother Teresa for a few months at Nirmal Hriday ashram in Kolkata. She was a noble soul. Pl spare her," tweeted Kejriwal.

Bhagwat's comment was made at an NGO function in Rajasthan on Monday.

He had said, "Here, the service isn't like Mother Teresa's. Her service would have been good, but it used to have one objective, to see that the person who was being helped, felt obliged to become a Christian."

Defending Bhagwat, RSS leader Dr. M. Vaidya maintained that the media was wrongly interpreting the RSS chief's statement.

"Media reporting wrongly. At Bharatpur, ex DG BSF said Mother Teresa did seva with motive to convert. In reply, Bhagwatji said, "let Mother Teresa know her motive for seva, we do seva without expecting any returns," said Vaidya in a series of tweets.
