Le Monde Refuses To Run Modi’s Interview. The French newspaper, Le Monde, has refused to carry an interview with Prime Minister Narendra Modi to coincide with his visit to Paris after it was told it could only publish emailed answers.

New Delhi: The French newspaper, Le Monde, has refused to carry an interview with Prime Minister Narendra Modi to coincide with his visit to Paris after it was told it could only publish emailed answers.

" Le Monde refused to run an interview of Narendra Modi after we were told to publish written answers, not interact with him," Julien Bouissou, the South Asia correspondent for the French daily posted on Twitter.

The Prime Minister's Office instead negotiated an email interview with Le Figaro, Le Monde's rival that is owned by Socpresse, a subsidiary of Dassault which is trying to sell 126 Rafale fighter planes to India.

Meanwhile,PM Modi on Friday met top French business leaders with an aim of bringing French investment and technologies to India particularly in infrastructure and defence sectors.
